| Our lodging and fishing packages are an all inclusive stay at the Big Woods Resort. Transportation will be arranged to and from the Palestine, TX airport. We will start the day off with breakfast around 6:30 and return for lunch around 12:00. This package is only available with a two person hunt for at least two days. The Big Woods has a five stand sporting clays and many other activities for you to enjoy. So bring your bow, shotgun, or rifle because you might just end up on a hog hunt after you bag your trophy fish "with a little extra to Doc". If you can't find your gun you can buy one or rent one from their pro shop along with shells. | 2009 NEW PRICES FOR BASIC TRIP $1500 for first trophy gar over 6ft. With up to four people per boat. $500 for any additional trophy gar taken that day. We decided to change up our prices this year so you can bring more people at a cheaper price. Now you can bring your friends and fish for only $1500 a day up to four people per boat. Due to how big these fish are it normally takes more then three arrows to boat the fish, so everyone can get in on the action. If you decide you want to take more than one trophy gar it will be $500 extra per fish over 5ft A 50% deposit is needed in advance to book a hunt. We will guarantee a shot at 6 ft. Fish Lodging and meals not provided on a basic trip. |
| Our Guided trip will consist of a daytime gator gar hunt. We will provide all gear and your choice of bows. You will have the choice of a recurve or a compound. In your choice of compound bows we have, Browning, Barracuda, AMS, Fishhawk, or Onida. You may also bring your own. We will be fishing from one of our several boats depending on river conditions. We have two 18'x 8' Silver Dollar airboats ,and two trollering at 16' and 17'. We will be fishing the Trinity River out of Palestine TX., and fishing private lakes and oxbows off the river. We also have sole exclusive rights to fish the private lake John Paul and Johnny Morris of Bass Pro Shops took there massive 230 lb 8ft 3in alligator gar from. Our goal is to please our customer and do our best to produce a fish over 100 lbs. We are also offering a high quality video of your hunt filmed from and edited with professional equipment. | Hi, I am Bubba Bedre, founder and guide of Garzilla Bowfishing. I grew up hunting and fishing in the Trinity River bottoms. When my dad was not at work for the railroad, he had me helping him run lines or mowing around deer stands since I was old enough to walk. That was the good ol days I will never forget. We had a cabin on a lake fed by the Trinity river that would flood every other year. Every time it flooded it would stock the lake with fish from the river and the gar, once they got in, wouldn't leave. I have seen gar in this lake as big as my boat and have been seeing fish that big for as long as I can remember. I started bowfishing in the 80s shooting gar, carp, tilapia, and buffalo. I wanted to land one of those monster gar so bad, but something always went wrong when I stuck one. It wasn't until I met my good friends the Gar-Guys, and they came out and taught me the secrets of landing the big ones. When you combine their technique with my knowledge of being around these fish my whole life was a deadly combination. I have been hooked on it ever since. I have produced a trophy fish for just about all my friends and have decided to start offering one on one guided trips to the public. So if you are looking to go on a adventure of a lifetime for huge monster fish with just some good ol country boys than you found the right guide service.
